They "made" Albert King, who Clapton stole most of his licks from. Clapton has admitted this, he's also said that Hooker invented the "power" chord. Which brings us to Canned Heat, whose harp player Al Wilson borrowed heavily from Sonny Boy II, and Sonny Boy would have been just a good harp player without the appropriating the stage antics of T-Bone Walker. Which brings us back to Steve Cropper, whose tasteful leads remind me a lot of T-Bone at times. I'm, rambling, possibly because I don't know exactly what to say... or because I'm reading a bio about John Lee Hooker. More research?
