Drawing On The Past
It's Molly's birthday and I'm feeling nostalgic, so here's a cartoon I drew back around the time I was a new dad. It wasn't until after I'd published this that I saw Thurber's book, The Last Flower.
Echoes of James Thurber? I'll take that.

Happy Birthday to Miss Molly, from Columbus OH, the home of James Thurber. In fact, my office is less than 200 yards from the house where the bed fell, ghost got in, etc., and is graced with a beautiful statue of a Thurber dog, and across the street, near a gazebo, is the unicorn in the garden.

Steve,
I'm such a Thurber fan that I used to stay at the Agonuin whenever I was in New York. There were framed Thurber scribbles all over the place.
Oops, make that the Algonquin.
I need a nap.
