I need some time off. Not from the blog. Not even from work. But from life.
Where I used to decompress on weekends, that's not happening lately. We're exhausted and even the dogs are feeling stressed.
So, if you run into me and I look dazed, unaware of the day or even where I am, you'll know why.
I'm thinking of growing a mustache, changing my name to Raul and moving to Guadalajara where I'll give guided tours to rich American dowagers.
Short of that, I'm open to suggestion.

It's been a hard, hard season for a lot of people I know. If nothing else, you're in good company, though it really sucks. I wish I had better suggestions, but yours sounds about as good as it can get. Take care.
You've had a rough time of it lately, David. I can definitely understand how you'd want to go south of the border...I just hope the road gets smoother for you and yours, and soon.
Have you tried yoga, or even just meditation? When all you focus on is the here and now, that very moment, that very breath, not the one before or the one after...
We can't change the world, or anyone for that matter. But we can just be. Even if it's just a short hour, giving your mind a break may provide a little reprieve from the whirlwind.
On a different note, I did know someone who fell in love with a boy in the Caribbean. He sold fruits in the day, and slept outside most nights on a hammock, by the beach. Sounds like a stress free life to me, if fiber agrees with you.
Crazy Dave,
plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
For one thing your pressure gauge is at 0 PSI. I think the balance you seek will come from a cool glass of chaos. Break the puzzle apart and enjoy putting it back together.
PS: Don’t take your giants with you to Guadalajara- who will watch the dogs?
Have you tried throwing your friends' books in the trash? Works amazingly well:)
I recommend a debauched weeklong haze of drugs and alcohol through the Nevada desert in search of the American Dream.
You should take an attorney with you, just in case. I nominate Dusty.
A little Ramones with a lot of volume.
