A few of us went out for lunch today. While we were sitting in traffic, our windows down, a guy in a truck going the opposite direction was cut off by another driver. We heard him assess the other driver as, "Dumber than Palin."Which inspired me to create a few neologisms in honor of the Governatrix's unique contributions to our political dialogue.
Palinate - (verb) to condescend to your audience by dropping your g's when you talk.
Palindrome - (noun) to be unqualified, coming or going.
Palinize - (verb) to continue saying the same thing, even though the facts have proven you wrong.
Sarahnade - (noun) to talk about small town values as if crystal meth, bigotry and knocked up teens are what made this country great.
Palisseum - (noun) a place where masses assemble to hear a speech they've heard on TV.
Palink - (verb) to blink rapidly when asked a follow-up question.
Palinque - (verb) to blink rapidly when asked a question about foreign policy.
Pallitive - (adj.) words that don't mean anything but make your base feel good while you're losing an election.
Sarate - (verb) to cut your enemies once you achieve power.
Palinism - (noun) a falsehood, told with a wink and a smile.
Paluded - (adj.) to hold with conviction a belief that is flat-out wrong.

I have finally identified the social fingernails on the blackboard that keeps me unnerved. Its the intolerance of either, or, and both, liberals and conservatives and the extreme stances they will take up, even to the point of standing barefooted in a briar patch, to just throw one more barb at their opposition. Incredible!

I can't speak for anyone else, but yes, I've become increasingly intolerant of incompetence, hubris and blind folly.
40 years ago, when I returned to civilian life, I came home to aggressive indifference and Richard Nixon's criminal enterprise.
Ten years later I was told by the head of the RNC, Rich Bond, that I wasn't a real American.
Another ten years and I watched as the GOP decided that no business was more important than taking down Bill Clinton.
You know how the past 8 years have gone.
So yes, I'm intolerant of another 4 years of misguided tax policy, a culture war that glorifies ignorance and bigotry and a smug certitude that encourages a slice of America to see me as the enemy.
I saw a bumpersticker a few months ago that said: "Keep America Beautiful. Kill a Liberal." Now that is intolerance.
It's taken years for me to get here. That I let off some steam by mocking Republicans, well, it's a rather benign payback for what they've done to a country I deeply love.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
Those are great. I plan to start using them in conversation as often as possible.
